The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) Nominating Committee met on Aug. 23 in Chicago and reviewed, in detail, a number of nominee applications for the 2017 open board officers and directors positions.
After due diligence and deliberation, the committee offers the following slate of candidates for leadership positions on the 2017 PCMA Board of Directors.
According to the PCMA Bylaws, this official announcement of the proposed slate is to be sent to the membership by Oct. 1.

The Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Association recently announced its 2016/2017 Board of Directors.
The 2016/2017 HCEA Board, which officially took office Aug. 16, formally was presented during HCEAConnect, HCEA’s annual gathering for a time of learning and networking.
Don Schmid with Pfizer was installed as the new president of this nearly 100 year-old organization.

There aren’t too many people who can claim they have been in the industry for more than 50 years, but Jerry Kallman Sr. started off in 1963. Since 1963, Kallman Associates specialized in serving as the United States and Canadian representative office for numerous world renowned trade show organizers primarily in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The company now is run full-time by Jerry Kallman Jr., while Jerry Sr. is chair of Kallman Worldwide. Jerry Sr. took some time to tell TSNN about his many years of experience in the industry.

The Center for Exhibition Industry Research recently unveiled its Trade Show Economic Impact Calculator.
“CEIR’s Trade Show Economic Impact Calculator will help organizers further understand the impact of their shows and provide consistency across the exhibition industry in how we measure that impact,” said CEIR President and CEO Brian Casey, CEM. “More importantly, this tool offers the possibility of further correlating the value exhibitions have on their particular destinations.”

In the late 1800s, the need for safe drinking water was a critical issue. So, in March of 1881, 22 men representing water utilities in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky and Tennessee met on the campus of
Washington University in St. Louis for the first of what would eventually become the Annual Conference & Exposition of the American Water Works Association (AWWA).
