The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) under the Government of Macao Special Administrative Region released its MICE statistics in Macao for the quarter ended 30th June 2016.  A total of 318 MICE events were held in the quarter, including 292 meetings & conferences, 18 exhibitions and 8 incentive events. The total number of MICE participants was 451,000. The 18 exhibitions attracted a total of 392,000 attendees, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.1%. The average duration of the exhibitions was 3.4 days and the total floor area used was 85,000 m2 – up by 27.4% respectively… more

The Thailand Incentive and Meeting Exchange (TIME) 2016, organised by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), took place in Bangkok and Phuket from 16th to 21st August. Focused on the Chinese market, the inaugural event consisted of three activities: a knowledge exchange, a business exchange and an experience exchange. The Brisbane Boat Show was held from 19th to 21st August at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC). Displaying water craft and other accessories, more than 70 organisations covering boats and boat activities such as fishing, water skiing, wake boarding, personal water craft and canoeing are participating in the three-day show. UBM India has launched the 11th edition of Food ingredients India and Health ingredients (Fi India & Hi) at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from 22nd to 24th August. After being held in Western India since 2006, the 2016 edition was held in New Delhi for the first time. The show will now rotate between Mumbai and New Delhi annually. Still marking the 24th consecutive quarter of growth, the overall trade show industry’s upward trajectory has slowed down some during the second quarter of 2016. Mirroring the sluggish macro economy and declining corporate profits, the trade show industry’s performance, as measured by the CEIR Total Index, posted a modest year-on-year gain of 1.6 percent in Q2 of this year, compared with 3.7 percent in the fourth quarter of 2015 and 2.6 percent in the first quarter of 2016.
