Global Sources recently held its third annual China Sourcing Fairs in Johannesburg. The Fairs are the largest exhibitions of their kind in Africa to feature manufacturers of China-made consumer goods. Restaurants serve all kinds of high-end tea products these days, at least that’s what the thinking might be behind the decision for World Tea East and the Atlanta Foodservice Expo to collocate next year in Atlanta. Messe Düsseldorf, Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai and the China National Travel Service Group Corporation recently signed a cooperation agreement. As a result, Messe Düsseldorf is the first and only German trade fair organizer to work together with a Chinese partner in the tourism industry, according to company officials. This year’s International Association of Exhibitions and Events’ Expo! Expo! drew more than an estimated 2,000 attendees Dec. 4-6 to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, where they had the opportunity to not only go to 80 educational sessions, but also network with colleagues at events such as the opening party at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and check out products and services on a busy showfloor. From barbecue grills to solar filtration pumps and holiday decor, the newest products in outdoor living stole the spotlight at the Int’l Pool | Spa | Patio Expo that took place Nov. 6-8  at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. For the ninth quarter in a row, the trade show industry still is growing, according to the Center for Exhibition Industry Research’s latest CEIR Index, albeit at a slower rate in the third quarter of this year, with concerns over not only the looming fiscal cliff, but also the global economy.
