Nielsen Expositions, which produces the biannual ASD Show in Las Vegas, will launch a regional event – Miami Wholesale Expo - Sept. 30-Oct. 2 at the Miami Airport Convention Center.
The new event is in response to market demand for a wholesale merchandise event to expand relationships for vendors specializing in fashion accessories, travel/leisure products, health and beauty items, resort apparel and footwear, novelty and souvenir items and general merchandise, according to show officials.

Reed Exhibitions’ decision to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines at its upcoming Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show and the ensuing outcry not only from exhibitors and the National Rifle Association, but also the National Shooting Sports Foundation – owner of Reed-produced SHOT Show, has led to the postponement of the ESOS.

Malaysia will host Asia’s future leading architects in 2014 when they convene in the country for the 16th Asian Congress of Architects 2014 (ACA 2014).
The Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) and the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) announced the congress will take place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

This year was a very good one for the MICE industry in Thailand, with targeted visitor numbers for 2012 of 750,000 being exceeded by 19 percent to 895,224 visitors.
"Thailand's MICE industry is growing strongly despite the economic crises in Europe and USA. CardioCare Live, the online cardiology congress, and John Hopkins Medicine have partnered to offer six one-hour interactive CME Summits that include experts via online video with live Q&A.
Sessions will focus on interventional cardiology and diabetes care, and participants will have the opportunity to earn continuing medical education credits.

The Winter Session of the 20th Annual World Congress on Anti-Aging & Regenerative Biomedical Technologies drew 3,000 delegates and corporate leaders to an educational program featuring more than 100 speakers, who presented the latest scientific data on advanced preventive medical diagnostics and therapeutics, as well as emerging biomedical technologies.

After a lot of speculation in which several other cities were floated as possible new locales for Nielsen Expositions’ Outdoor Retailer, the show has decided to stay put in its long-time home of Salt Lake City through 2016.
Show organizers, backed by the unanimous support of the Outdoor Industry Association board of directors, will continue to hold the Winter and Summer Markets at SMG-managed Salt Palace Convention Center.

A record-breaking 4,050 participants from 56 countries, as well as every U.S. state attended the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society’s 4th annual mHealth Summit in December just outside of Washington, D.C.
