More than 50,000 attendees expected at the 99th Annual Radiological Society of North America’s Annual Meeting 2013 will have the opportunity to hear a keynote by former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

Global Experience Specialists’ parent company, Viad, saw a 23-percent drop in third-quarter revenues from $307.5 million in the same quarter in 2012 to $236.5 million this year, primarily because of negative show rotation.
U.S. segment revenue for the Marketing & Events Group was $120.5 million, with an operating loss of $3.7 million, compared with 2012 Q3 revenue of $168.4 million and an operating loss of $585,000.
Even with negative show rotation of approximately $57 million impacting Q3 earnings, same-show growth was positive in the third quarter.

The 31st edition of the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair, organised by UBM Asia, concluded this year as another record-breaking show, with attendance from 3,633 exhibitors from 48 countries and regions.
UBM hosted the seven-day show across two venues in Hong Kong, namely the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) Sept. 11-15, and the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) Sept. 13-17.
According to UBM, a total of 52,651 unique visitors from 154 countries and regions were recorded and contributed to more than 115,300 visits during the fair.

After feedback from key industry players and the Thai Beer Industry Guild, the dates for the launch of Bevtec Asia have been changed from early 2014 to May 6–8, 2015.
The Bevtec Asia committee decided not to hold the exhibition in 2014 when two ASEAN industry conferences in the same three months period are already scheduled, also with so many buyers focused on the AEC 2015 free-trade market changes and its opportunities.

Self-installing car seats and organic bedding wasn’t just baby talk at ABC Kids Expo, the largest maternity and juvenile products trade show that took place Oct. 15-18 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
With 1 million square feet, 14,000 attendees and 1,100 exhibitors, this has been the second best year for the show. Many of its areas are growing, but with economy just barely coming back and Internet commerce rapidly gaining speed, the model for success is changing.

Through an intensive marketing campaign, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre has secured several high-profile North American events that will bring in more 12,500 attendees and RM186 million (US 58 million) of economic impact.

The 7th edition of Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology broke records this year, with a huge 62 percent visitor increase.
The three-day event welcomed 12,762 professional visitors from 50 countries and region Sept. 25-27 at its new venue, Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
The fair presented the latest technologies and solutions in intelligent building development from around the world. In total, 135 exhibitors participated in the 2013 show and utilized 10,000 square meters of exhibition space.
