With a change in ownership structure and the recession starting to finally recede, Hanley Wood has decided old is new again and brought back Peter Goldstone as CEO of the company. Goldstone, who previously was president of the company before he departed in 2010, will step into Frank Anton’s shoes, who will transition into a chairman role. The 16th edition of the Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART), organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), saw a record 640 exhibitors from over 30 countries and regions attend the four-day event at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).   FILMART covers film, television, digital entertainment and music, and is one of 10 events in total that makes up the month-long Entertainment Expo Hong Kong. Diversified Events Hong Kong will partner with Hong Kong Education City to jointly organise the Hong Kong Learning and Teaching Expo for its 2012 edition. The previous editions of the Hong Kong Learning and Teaching Expo were held in July 2010 and June 2011. The Singapore EXPO Convention and Exhibition Centre has announced the official opening of MAX Atria, a US$44 million purpose-built MICE venue managed by Singex Venues Pte Ltd. Designed with sustainability in mind, the venue will reportedly consume 30% less energy each year compared to a conventionally designed building of the same size. UBM plc announced the launch of Ecobuild India in 2013. The event will be held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (BEC) in Mumbai April 16-18.. Ecobuild India 2013 will be organised by UBM’s two subsidiaries, UBM Build Environment and UBM India. With more and more smartphones and other devices on the showfloor that require additional Wi-Fi and mobile bandwith, convention and meeting venues’  existing networks are being tasked with keeping up with the demand. To address this issue, the International Association of Exhibitions and Events released its White Paper, “Wi-Fi and Mobile Challenges in the Exhibitions and Events Industry”, in response to bandwith concerns expressed by various segments of the industry.
