The biannual South China Label Show 2012, owned by U.K.-based Tarsus Group, attracted 5,098 visitors as its second edition was held Dec. 4-6 at the Pazhou Exhibition Center in Guangzhou.
The show exceeded previous statistics in attendee and exhibitor numbers and many senior executives visited, confirming the fast growing importance of the event and the market in the region.

Water Expo China + Water Membrane China broke its previous record for exhibitor and visitor attendance when it was held Oct. 29-31 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing.
A new record of 398 exhibitors, from 21 countries and regions, a 21-percent increase, compared last year, including national groups and pavilions from Austria, Germany, Korea and Taiwan region, was set at this year’s 22,000 square meters show.

The Hong Kong Tourism Board(HKTB) announced the appointment of Kenneth Wong as general manager of MICE & Cruise with immediate effect. Prior to his new role, Wong was Head of Product Marketing at the HKTB.
In his new role covering the MICE industry, Wong will oversee the development and implementation of business strategies of the Meetings and Exhibitions Hong Kong(MEHK) Office to continue to provide support to the industry and attract more international, world-class events to Hong Kong. The Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) is forecasting revenues generated by international events in Malaysia to reach US$294 million in the 2012 financial year.
According to Tony Nagamaiah, general manager of International Events at MyCEB, as of the end of November 2012, total revenues reached US$249 million. Although it is worth noting that the total number of international events held in Malaysia in 2012 was slightly lower than the year before. The AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) has announced another year of business growth with space sold at the venue increasing by more than 20% for a second consecutive year. In total, more than 20 million square feet (1.86 million m2) of venue space was sold in 2012.
Additionally, around 100 inaugural large-scale EXPOtainment events were hosted at the venue this year, which includes large international and regional exhibitions and conferences, corporate banquets, and concerts. The biennial India Auto Expo motor show will relocate from its current venue at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi to the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida at the next edition. The change was based on serious traffic and visitor management problems reported by attendees and the Indian Trade Promotions Organisation (ITPO) at this year’s show.

Driven by strong sales at home and abroad in 2012, Messe Frankfurt will be the first German trade show organizer to pass the €500 million sales mark, according to company officials.
“We expect to generate sales of around €538 million – the highest ever in the history of our group to date,” said Wolfgang Marzin, Messe Frankfurt’s president and CEO.
He added, “Thanks to hard work and a little luck, we were able to better our planned levels by almost €40 million.”

PMMI, the owner and producer of the launch event EXPO PACK Guadalajara 2013, has secured AMEE, the Mexican Packaging Association,to provide education with a two-day, six-session conference program designed especially to meet the needs of businesses in Western Mexico.
