Calls from within the Taiwanese jewellery industry to hold an international, professional jewellery exhibition in Taiwan have been answered, with UBM Asia and the Taiwan Jewelry Industry Association joining forces, supported by the Taipei Jewelers’ Association, to launch the first Taiwan Jewellery & Gem Fair.
The show will be held Nov. 15-18 at the Taipei World Trade Center.

The international organic sector met for the 12th year in a row for BioFach Japan 2012 Nov. 21-23 in the Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Centre.
This year was notable for the large international share of exhibitors. More than 210 companies from 14 nations, compared with 10 nations in 2011 presented their organic products.
Italy, particularly the region of Sicily, and Argentina were at BioFach Japan for the first time. Other countries that participated were Germany, Australia, France, South Korea, Nepal, Austria and the United Arab Emirates.

U.K.-based UBM acquired a 65-percent equity share in Eco Exhibitions Sdn Bhd – owner of sustainable building, design and construction trade show Greenbuild Asia.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Greenbuild Asia’s founder and owner, Andrew Siow, will remain as a partner and managing director of the company.

FESPA, the federation of global screen, textile and digital printing trade associations, will launch FESPA China in partnership with the China Screen Printing and Graphic Imaging Association (CSGIA) next year. The inaugural edition of the trade show will take place Nov. 18-20 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center.

Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai, subsidiary of Germany-based exhibition organiser Messe Düsseldorf and China International Exhibitions, a member of the Allworld Exhibitions Group, will collaborate to launch ProWine China in Shanghai next year.
ProWine China is a geo-clone expansion of the annually-held wine and spirit trade fair, ProWein, in Düsseldorf. The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) has launched the Macao MICE Portal, an online portal to promote the special administrative region’s MICE industry.
Major sections of the portal currently include Event Promotion, Incentive Measures, Industry Information and MICE Guide. The portal will be maintained by IPIM and will provide the latest news and development including activities and facilities for local and overseas event organisers, industrial and business entrepreneur and business visitors.

Labelexpo India, a biennial event organised London-listed Tarsus, posted a record 8,049 visitors on the show’s 10 year anniversary. Labelexpo India 2012 was held at the Pragati Maidan in New Delhi Oct. 29-Nov. 1.
Visitor numbers were up 33 percent from the 2010 edition, while more than 200 local and international exhibitors, including 49 first time participants, showcased their products at the event. According to Tarsus, 53 percent of exhibitors have already confirmed their return at the 2014 edition with many also committing to bigger stalls.

During the Cleveland Clinic Innovation Summit at the Hotel InterContinental on the Cleveland Clinic main campus, Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald announced that the Cleveland Clinic and GE Healthcare will be participating as tenants in the under-construction medical mart in downtown Cleveland.

The recent staging of Messe Duesseldorf’s MEDICA 2012, International Trade Fair with Congress – World Forum for Medicine, and the collocated COMPAMED 2012, International Trade Fair – High tech solutions for medical technology, attracted 130,600 visitors from 120 countries to Duesseldorf, Germany.
There also were 4,554 exhibitors from 64 nations at MEDICA 2012 that included visitor groups from countries such as South America, North Africa and Asia.
