Global Sources recently held its third annual China Sourcing Fairs in Johannesburg. The Fairs are the largest exhibitions of their kind in Africa to feature manufacturers of China-made consumer goods.
Showcasing more than 800 exhibitor booths, the collocated exhibitions were held Nov. 28-30 at the Gallagher Convention Centre, Gallagher Estate, Midrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.

Walking through the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, everywhere you turn there is yet another way the venue is demonstrating that it practices what it preaches as the greenest trade show facility in the United States.

AsiaWorld-Expo recently unveiled two new major convention spaces for Hong Kong: Runway 11 and Runway Suites series.
The new venues will help attract even more international conferences and events to Hong Kong, building on the growth that the local MICE industry already is experiencing, according to AWE officials.

The 2013 International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE), which is on tap Jan. 29-31 at Atlanta’s Georgia World Congress Center, has set a record, with more than 1,150 exhibitors, covering 430,000-plus net square feet of exhibit space.
Comprised of the three integrated trade shows -- International Poultry Expo, International Feed Expo, and AMI’s International Meat Expo – IPPE still is growing with several weeks left before the doors officially open.

The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) has been named ‘Asia’s Best Convention and Exhibition Centre’ by the annual CEI Asia industry survey and awards, as voted by readers of the MICE publication. This is the tenth time HKCEC has won the accolade which first began in 2001.

UBM Asia announced this week that Joji George will be the new Managing Director of UBM India as of 3rd December. George will be taking over from Sanjeev Khaira who after three years in the role is returning to London. Khaira will take-up his new post as Managing Director – Market Development, EMEA in UBM Live.
George was previously the CEO of Percept Sports and Entertainment – an organiser of some of the largest events held in India. Prior to that he had held positions at MTV, Yahoo and the Global Brand Forum. George will report to Michael Duck, Executive Vice President of UBM… more

After acquiring the Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF) earlier this year, UBM Asia has announced plans to launch a complementary furniture and interior show next year. The Southeast Asia Furniture & Interiors Import-Export Exhibition (SEAFIE) will be held Sept. 13-16 at the Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

SIGGRAPH Asia, the conference and exhibition on computer graphics and interactive techniques, attracted more than 4,250 attendees from 56 countries over a four-day period. Organised by Contact Singapore, 22% of the attendees at the event were students from educational institutions, and a total of 68% of attendees were from overseas.
SIGGRAPH Asia 2012 was held at the Singapore EXPO MAX Atria from 28th November to 1st December. In total, more than 300 presentations, talks and panels were held at the event.
