HKTDC’s Exhibition Revenue Hits $250 Million
Recently, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) published its annual report for the financial year ended 31st March 2018. Revenues generated from the HKTDC’s exhibitions and missions were US$250 million, slightly higher than last year’s figure. The HKTDC’s total revenues, including a government subvention of US$49 million, were US$360 million – also similar to the previous year’s numbers.
Revenues from the HKTDC’s magazines and online marketplace dropped 3.7% compared with the previous year, down to US$20 million. Revenues generated from the operation of the HKTDC-owned, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), were US$19 million, representing a decrease of 15% year-on-year. However, its income from investments increased by 37% which served to offset the decrease in operational income.
In the previous fiscal year, the HKTDC organised more than 30 fairs attracting some 39,000 exhibitors and more than 750,000 buyers.
