Reed Huaqun Exhibitions Co., Ltd. and ShanghaiMart have reached an agreement to develop the Shanghai International Gift & Home Trade Fair, formerly produced by ShanghaiMart, into the Shanghai International Houseware, Premium, Arts & Crafts Creative Design Exhibition, organized by Reed Huaqun. The Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centrehas recently reopened with US$147 million worth of new features and service enhancements. The extensive renovations began in June 2012. Facilities in the upgraded venue include more than 2,100 m2 function space, 36 convertible meeting rooms, six halls covering 12,000 m2, and a 10,000 m2 column-free hall that connects to a multipurpose hall. Last week, Infrastructure NSW (INSW) announced it has terminated negotiations with the winning bidder to build temporary exhibition facilities at Sydney’s Glebe Island. This week INSW stressed it will provide temporary exhibition facilities at Glebe Island on schedule in time for the 2014 exhibition season. The Exhibition & Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) revealed it has met with INSW three times since the announcement and is concerned about losing six months to an already tight construction schedule for an interim venue. The 2013 edition of the Asia Adult Expo (AEE) will expand into an additional hall at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) this summer due to the increased demand. Organised by Hong Kong-based exhibition organiser, Vertical Expo, the adult products and services show will run from 29th to 31st August. The National Confectioners Association’s Sweets & Snacks Expo, held May 21-23 at Chicago’s McCormick Place, not only snagged a 10-percent increase in attendees, but also the number of new exhibitors rose 17 percent and the showfloor grew 9 percent, compared with the 2012 event. “For the fourth year in a row, the Expo demonstrated significant growth in all areas.
