When the American Psychiatric Association Heart Rhythm Society recently held their annual meetings, they decided to leave a lasting impact and give back to the local host communities. The APA’s meeting was held May 5-9 at Philadelphia’s Pennsylvania Convention Center and the association made a pledge to make a group donation to the Philadelphia Mental Health Center at the culmination of the event. China Med 2012, 24th International Medical Instruments and Equipment Exhibition, was a mirror for the rapid growth of the Chinese medical device industry, with 515 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions displaying their latest technologies on more than 322,900 square feet of exhibit space. With the opening of the Cleveland Medical Mart & Convention Center just more than a year away (July 2013), the venue is keeping up the momentum by adding more members to its senior management team.  Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc., the partner with Ohio’s Cuyahoga County on the $450 million project, named Jim Bennett as senior vice president and Brian Milner as Director of operations. When the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society recently wrapped up its annual meeting Feb. 20-24 at the Sand Expo & Convention Center, show officials had a lot to celebrate, with the show breaking previous attendance records.
