FESPA to Launch Show in China

November 27, 2012

FESPA, the federation of global screen, textile and digital printing trade associations, will launch FESPA China in partnership with the China Screen Printing and Graphic Imaging Association (CSGIA) next year. The inaugural edition of the trade show will take place Nov. 18-20 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center.

Focused on the screen and digital printing industry, FESPA China will replace the existing event organised by CSGIA which served the Chinese market. The CSGIA event was first held in 1983 and alternated between Guangzhou and Shanghai each year. The last edition of the CSGIA event was held in November 2011 with the attendance of more than 400 exhibitors over 25000m2 of exhibition space.

Nigel Steffens, CEO of FESPA, said, “FESPA has been weighing up opportunities to develop a visible presence in China for some time, and we’re confident that this partnership with our associate member in China is the best approach for us and for the Chinese printing community. CSGIA is a strong event which is attracting a dynamic visitor audience, 47% of which were first-time visitors to the show in 2011. Our objective is to grow this show substantially, as we have done with the events we have taken on in other developing markets like Mexico and Brazil.”
