PRINT United confirms five more independent regional and state affiliates of Printing Industries of America (PIA) have agreed to support and promote the launch of the PRINT United Expo to their respective members. With this addition to previously reported participating associations, a total of 15 PIA affiliates are now supporting the new trade show hosted by the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) in partnership with NAPCO Media, which will launch in Dallas in October 2019. UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, has named Nick Savage as the association’s new regional manager for the Middle East-Africa region. With his appointment, the regional UFI office will relocate to Dubai, and will be hosted by the Info Salons Group. Savage follows on the work initiated by Ibrahim Al-Khaldi, who is handing over the baton for personal reasons. Al-Khaldi will work jointly with Savage over the next few months to facilitate the handover. ASAE launches the call for association professionals and industry partners to apply for open positions on the ASAE and the ASAE Foundation Board of Directors to help lead the association dedicated to furthering the profession of association management. ASAE Foundation names the five awardees for the Innovation Grants Program (IGP). The 2018 International Home + Housewares Show sold out in late December, more than 10 weeks before opening day March 10 at Chicago’s McCormick Place, according to the International Housewares Association, the show’s owner and operator. “The high demand to be a part of our world-class marketplace continues for our IHA member suppliers,” said Phil Brandl, IHA president & CEO. The Recreational Vehicle Industry Association decided to scrap its 55-year old massive National RV Show, which it has held every November at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky.
