The International Association of Exhibitions and Events has released an updated version of its white paper, “Future Trends Impacting the Exhibitions and Events Industry”, created by the IAEE Future Trends Task Force, chaired by Francis J. Friedman, president of Time & Place Strategies, Inc.
Originally released in 2013, the report identifies and addresses major trends that will impact the exhibitions and events industry within the next three years.

Marina Bay Sands recently helped Messe Berlin(Singapore), the organiser of ITB Asia 2014, stage the tradeshow’s first-ever carbon neutral event in its seven-year history.
The travel trade show took place Oct. 29-31 at Sands Expo and Convention Centre, the first of a three-year run in Marina Bay Sands.

Automechanika Shanghai 2014, Asia’s largest trade show for automotive parts, accessories, equipment and services, will have a record number of exhibitors this week at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
The total number of exhibitors stands at 4,906, a six percent increase on last year’s show, with 39 countries and regions represented.

Reed Exhibitions Greater China has reached agreement with Shanghai Kuozhan Exhibitions to jointly organize the China International Touchscreen Exhibition, a world-leading touchscreen event (commonly known as C-TOUCH) from 2015 onwards.
C-TOUCH is organized in Shanghai (May) and Shenzhen (November) and showcases a comprehensive range of Touch Panel Modules and displays; components and materials such as sensors and IC; and a multitude of equipment and devices. The bauma China 2014, the 7th International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Construction Vehicles and Equipment exhibition, held Nov. 25-28, attracted nearly 200,000 attendees to the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).
Despite the downturn in the market and the severe challenges facing the industry, bauma China still attracted 191,000 visitors, up from 180,000 in 2012, coming from 149 countries and regions.
International buyers in particular were strongly represented at bauma China: their numbers rose by 12 percent.

The Halloween Industry Association and Urban Expositions have teamed up to acquire the Halloween & Party Expo from its current owners, H&P Expo.
The upcoming event, scheduled Feb. 6-9 at the New Orleans Convention Center, will be operated by H&P Expo. HIA and Urban will take over the event immediately following the 2015 edition.
Under the new partnership, Urban Expositions will be responsible for managing all aspects of the event including sales, operations, marketing and promotion with guidance and expertise provided by the Halloween Industry Association.

The 2016 International Buyer Program (IBP) application period is now open. Interested shows have until Dec. 22 to apply.
The U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Buyer Program is a joint government-industry effort designed to increase U.S. export sales by promoting international attendance at major U.S. industry exhibitions.
Exhibitors are always looking to connect with qualified buyers. If a show has exhibitors who are interested in exporting their goods and connecting with pre-screened buyers from outside the U.S., this program is designed for them.… more

Steve Moster, president of Global Experience Specialists, also has been named president and CEO of its parent company, Viad, effective immediately.
