The 8th China International Tourism Commodities Fair (CITCF) was closed on 27th May 2016 at the Yiwu International Expo Centre. The four-day fair featured 1,305 enterprises from 27 countries and regions. The event covered some 50,000 m2 – a slight increase compared with last year. In the first quarter of 2016, Macau’s Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 191 MICE events were held, which is down by 20 events year-on-year. The total number of participants and attendees also decreased – falling by 50% to 124,960. This significant drop was largely attributed to the shifting of four exhibitions from Q1 to Q2. Eventbase Technology, an app platform for events, deployed 1,200 Aruba proximity beacons to deliver indoor wayfinding and self-guided tours within the HPE Discover 2016 app in Las Vegas this past week.  Leveraging Aruba’s Meridian SDK, interactive maps feature and one of the largest deployments of beacons ever at an event, the app allowed attendees to view their location on mobile devices, while indoors and receive turn-by-turn directions throughout the Sands Expo and Convention Center.  Whether attendees were trying to find the location of their next session or a… more
