The Consumer Technology Association, formerly the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), has revealed Kirk Skaugen, senior vice president and general manager of the Client Computing Group for Intel Corporation, as the speaker who will deliver a keynote address at the upcoming CES Asia™ 2016. Global Sources released its financial results for the year ended Dec. 31, 2015. Revenues from continuing operations in 2015 were US$171.0 million, down 4.6 percent, compared with the US$179.3 million recorded in 2014. Adjusted EBITDA fell to US$30.5 million from US$37.3 million in 2014. Net profits slipped to US$18.8 million in 2015 – down from US$22.5 million in the previous year. IFRS net profit, however, jumped 63 percent year-on-year to US$29.9 million from US$18.3 million in 2014. After a trio of terrorist bombings rocked the Belgian capital, two at Brussels’ airport and another at a metro station, the city’s main exhibition venue – Brussels Expo – announced several shows scheduled in the building were canceled. A note on the venue’s Web site stated: “Due to the exceptional circumstances in Brussels, the PRS Europe Show of today and tomorrow is canceled. Pico Thailand, the Thai-listed subsidiary of Pico Far East Holdings, has released its results for the quarter ended 31st January 2016. Revenues in the quarter were US$9.2 million, representing an increase of 48% over the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter was US$344,000, compared with a loss of US$2,100 in the same quarter in 2015. Earnings per share in the quarter were Baht 0.058 (US$0.0016). The Gem & Jewellery India International Exhibition (GJIIE), organised by Madras Jewellers and Diamond Merchants Association (MJDMA) and UBM India, has been rescheduled. Originally, the event was scheduled to be held from 18th to 20th March 2016 and it is now rescheduled to be held from 7th to 9th October 2016 at the Chennai Trade Centre. The organisers explained that the change of date is due to the upcoming Legislative Assembly Elections in Tamil Nadu and security related concerns. The 3rd edition of furniPRO Asia recently concluded at the Singapore Expo Convention and Exhibition Centre (SingEx). The three-day event was held from 10th to 12th March, with 142 participating brands and companies from 25 countries including five national pavilions from China, Germany, Italy, Singapore and Taiwan. The Electronic Software Association’s E3 Expo won’t have some key gaming companies on the showfloor – such as EA and Activision – when the show opens its doors in June at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The game publishers, instead, are opting for smaller, public-focused events. Informa Exhibitions unveiled for the first time at Agra Middle East through a partnership between event technology supplier Info Salons, and solution provider Konduko to debut a new exhibitor and attendee experience. The technology provides organizers, sponsors and exhibitors a 360-degree platform that delivered content to the attendees, while collecting qualified data on visitor behaviour and preferences at the event.
