The 2nd edition of ISPO SHANGHAI was held July 6-8 at Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). The three-day show attracted a total of 470 exhibitors covering a wide range of categories including sports, outdoor activity items, paddling & water sports, etc. The exhibition was segmented into key categories including action, sportstyle, fitness, running, functional textiles, outdoor, and paddling & water sports.

Hong Kong, 11th July: The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will launch a new international fashion event, CENTRESTAGE, in September this year. Running from 7th to 10th September, the new event will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).
According to the HKTDC, the inaugural edition of CENTRESTAGE will feature about 200 fashion brands at four thematic zones, GLAM, ALLURE, METRO and FORWARD. Between getting there, staying there, eating and drinking there, as well as all other activity, attendees of the two major party conventions will be responsible for spending an estimated $360 million in their host cities this year, according to a projection from the U.S. Travel Association.
That spending total splits straight down the middle for the two events - $180 million each for the Republican National Convention, which was held in Cleveland July 18-21, and the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia July 25-28.

The American Society of Association Executives has named the host cities where its ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition will be headed 2018-2022.
The meeting attracts thousands of association executives and hundreds of exhibitors each year, and also it’s the flagship education and exposition for associations and nonprofit organizations in the United States.
In 2018, the meeting will head to Chicago, followed by Columbus, Ohio, in 2019, Las Vegas in 2020, Dallas in 2021 and Atlanta in 2022.
Next year, the Annual Meeting & Exposition will go north of the border to Toronto.

Feathr, the Event Marketing Cloud, received $2 million in venture capital funding to continue its growth and development as a digital marketing platform for event professionals.
This investment was led by Florida Gulfshore Capital, with participation from the Florida Opportunity Fund (co-managed by Arsenal Venture Partners), the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, and several strategic partners. Previous investors Capital Factory also participated.

If anyone needs a little glimpse of nature in the middle of a concrete jungle, just log onto the new live video web stream from the Javits Convention Center of New York’s green roof, the second largest of its kind in the United States.
The live stream, which displays a rooftop view of Manhattan’s rapidly developing West Side, will be available 24 hours a day and provide users with a unique perspective of the 6.75-acre green roof.

The Anaheim Convention Center, the largest convention center on the West Coast, was awarded LEED Gold certification, a designation for sustainable-rated buildings.
The Anaheim Convention Center is the largest U.S. convention center to achieve LEED Gold certification. The honor follows the center’s earning of LEED certification in 2010.
