This week, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) announced who will replace former chief executive Lionel Yeo who stepped down in May this year. STB has appointed Keith Tan as its new Chief Executive with effect from 29th October. Tan is currently the Deputy Secretary (Policy) of Singapore’s Ministry of Defence where Tan is responsible for defence policy, strategic communications, national education and “Total Defence”. In its previous financial year (which ran from July 2017 to June 2018), the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) announced that it hosted a total of 1,061 events, including 118 exhibitions, 166 conferences and hundreds of corporate meetings, banquets and entertainment events. U.K.-based Tarsus Group has bought the remaining 50 percent share of its joint venture in Mexico with E.J. Krause for approximately $18 million, as well as announcing other deals in Southeast Asia and the United Arab Emirates. Event registration and ticketing platform company, Eventbrite, plans to go public. The company filed for an initial public offering (IPO) on Aug. 23, stating that it intends to raise $200 million from sales of its Class A shares.  Goldman Sachs, J.P.
