LeftField Media will launch Anime NYC, a new convention focused on anime, manga and Japanese pop culture, next year in New York City. The first Anime NYC will take place Nov. 17-19, 2017, in Midtown Manhattan’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and bring fans together with guests from Japan and publishers across America. In early 1917, a few amusement park and other outdoor entertainment representatives gathered at the Congress Hotel in Chicago with the goal of establishing an association for the industry. The following year, the National Outdoor Showmen’s Association (NOSA) was officially formed. When exhibits first appeared at the second Annual Convention, there were only three manufacturers featuring new amusement devices. Automechanika Chicago, a trade show dedicated to high-end technical and management-related training for automotive collision and service repair shops, along with NACE (the International Autobody Congress & Exposition), an event for the collision repair industry, have signed a letter of intent to combine forces starting in 2017.
