UBM Asia’s INTERMACH, SUBCON Thailand and Sheet Metal Asia 2011 drew 33,016 attendees to this year’s show, a 20-percent increase, compared with the previous show. In addition, international attendance also saw a huge jump this year, with a 25-percent increase, compared with the previous show. Dallas-based Freeman bought all three companies owned by San Francisco-based Wheelhouse Solutions – Champion Exposition Services, George Fern Exposition & Services and Immersa Marketing – for an undisclosed sum. The Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) announced the extension of the “Strategic MICE Stimulation Program” until the end of 2011. The program, originally due to end this month, received wide support from local MICE industry players according to the Macau Convention and Exhibition Association (MCEA). Launched in May 2009, the program has supported 246 events in total, of which 95 were meetings and conventions, 47 were exhibitions and 104 incentive programs.
