London-listed RELX Group (formerly Reed Elsevier) reported its results for the year ended Dec. 31, 2014. The group’s revenues were £5.8 billion (US$9.0 billion), while excluding for biennial exhibition cycling, revenues were up by 3 percent.  Adjusted operating profit in the period was £1.7 billion (US$2.7 billion), an increase of 5 percent. The second edition of the HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show was held recently at the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) with a record number of exhibitors, three new group pavilions and a debut zone dedicated to precious pearls. The 15th Shanghai International Children Baby Maternity Industry Expo (CBME China 2015) will welcome local and international brands to showcase their latest products July 22-24 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). The event will feature more than1,900 suppliers representing 2,650 brands across 200,000 square meters of exhibition space, a 20-percent increase in exhibition scale, compared with 2014. The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) will welcome more than 7,000 participants from 65 countries June 16-19 to the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre for Asian Attractions Expo (AAE) 2015, an international event in the Asia-Pacific attractions industry. UBM Malaysia, a subsidiary of UBM Asia, in conjunction with the World Veterinary Poultry Association (WVPA) and World Poultry Science Association (WPSA) Malaysia branch, will launch a new meat industry-focused event, ASIA MEATEC, alongside Livestock Asia and the WVPA-WPSA Scientific Conference. The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has revealed Thailand’s business events industry in 2014 was driven by significant growth in visitors originating from the Australia and Oceania region. For the financial year ended September 2014, Thailand received a total of 919,614 business events travellers generating more than US$2.1 billion. In particular, TCEB highlighted Australia’s position as a top six source market for Thailand’s MICE industry, as Australian business events travellers jumped 137% year-on-year to reach 37,947 generating an estimated US$91.3 million.
