Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre Breaks Attendance Record with 6.4 Million Annual Visitors
In fiscal year 2014-2015 (July 2014 to June 2015), a total of 1,113 events were held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, including 111 exhibitions and 38 conferences, along with hundreds of corporate meetings, banquets and entertainment events.
The total attendees at the 1,113 events, combined with diners at the HKCEC’s seven restaurants, was almost 6.4 million people, including visitors from around the world and broke the HKCEC’s attendance record.

The largest Yarn Expo Autumn is to be held Oct. 13-15 this year, with both the gross area and exhibitor number jumping to an all-time high.
“We relocated this year’s autumn fair to the new National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) as this venue allows us to occupy a broader space to accommodate more long-awaited yarn and fibre suppliers from around the world,” said Wendy Wen, senior general manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd.

Two hundred attendees experienced the best that Dallas has to offer during three days of networking and education at the Society of Independent Show Organizers’ 2015 SISO Leadership Conference, held Aug. 3-5.
“Dallas as a destination should be considered by anyone in the industry,” said Lew Shomer, SISO’s executive director.
He added, “We put a program together to encourage young professionals to become leaders. The content was directed toward them, and we achieved that goal.”

Organised by China International Exhibitions, ProPak China (The International Processing and Packaging Exhibition) ran from 15th to 17th July. The exhibition attracted 733 companies from 27 countries and regions. The largest group of independent exhibitors came from China.
The show drew a total of 17,322 visitors, with over 88% of them from China. There were also nearly 2,000 visitors from 77 different international markets. The eighth edition of Secutech Vietnam will open its doors Aug. 18-20 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Organized by Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media Ltd, the annual show is widely-renowned as the country’s leading trade fair for the security, fire and safety industry.

Walking the packed showfloor for the American Society of Association Executives’ Annual Meeting, held this week at Detroit’s Cobo Center, it was abundantly clear that the busiest booths, by far, were ones that created a really fun, engaging attendee experience.
Some booths went for the straight up business approach with salespeople standing at the ready to talk with customers about the company’s latest offerings, other booths had the traditional promotional items – stuffed animals, pens, water bottles, etc. – and others stepped it up a notch.

Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will organise its Food Expo and Home Delights Expo – both opening on 13th August and through 17th August at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Meanwhile, HKTDC will also collocate two other events – Hong Kong International Tea Fair and International Conference & Exhibition of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine & Health Products (ICMCM) which will be held from 13th to 15th August – also at HKCEC.

Global Sources reported total revenues in Q2 of US$68.5 million, up 17% year-on-year. Its exhibition revenues increased by 42% year-on-year to US$46.1 million, accounting for over 67% of Global Sources’ total revenues. The growth was attributed to the strong performance of its large electronics trade show in Hong Kong in April and the move of its SIMM machinery shows from 2014 Q1 to 2015 Q2.

Emerald Expositions’ASD Marketweek not only scored 14-percent growth in buyer attendance, compared with last year, but also VIP attendance surged 23 percent throughout the four-day show.
The increase was attributed to a number of different strategic marketing and internal restructuring initiatives, according to show organizers.
