In its previous financial year (which ran from July 2017 to June 2018), the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) announced that it hosted a total of 1,061 events, including 118 exhibitions, 166 conferences and hundreds of corporate meetings, banquets and entertainment events. U.K.-based Tarsus Group has bought the remaining 50 percent share of its joint venture in Mexico with E.J. Krause for approximately $18 million, as well as announcing other deals in Southeast Asia and the United Arab Emirates. Event registration and ticketing platform company, Eventbrite, plans to go public. The company filed for an initial public offering (IPO) on Aug. 23, stating that it intends to raise $200 million from sales of its Class A shares.  Goldman Sachs, J.P. Several shows have canceled at convention centers expected to be impacted by Hurricane Florence, which is projected to make landfall in the Carolinas as a Category 3 or 4 storm on Friday morning.
