C2 Melbourne was originally planned to be held from 17th to 19th October 2018, at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC). The event was eventually cancelled following the sudden departure of the event creator and C2’s CEO Asia-Pacific Martin Enault. It is reported that Enault has cited health reason for his decision. According to the event venue, MCEC, they have invested a lot of marketing capital into the event and it is expected to attract some 2,500 participants. Macau’s Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) recently released its MICE statistics for the second quarter of 2018. In the quarter, a total of 327 MICE events were held in Macau, down 6 events compared with the same quarter in 2017. However, the total number of participants increased 1.7% to about 411,000 in the period. According to DSEC, a total of 316 meetings and conferences were held in quarter, 6 events more than the previous year. This week, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) opened its Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) running from 4th to 8th September 2018. Messe Frankfurt Group, the world’s largest trade fair, congress and event organiser with its own exhibition grounds, will participate as an exhibitor itself in the inaugural China International Import Expo (CIIE) to be held in Shanghai this Nov. 5-10. With its largest edition to date, the concurrent staging of MEDICAL FAIR ASIA and MEDICAL MANUFACTURING ASIA 2018 in Singapore was a resounding success: more than  14,000 trade visitors from 72 countries took part in MEDICAL FAIR ASIA  - a 16 percent increase compared to 2016, while  MEDICAL MANUFACTURING ASIA 2018 registered some 6,000 visitors from 56 nations – a 12 percent growth from two years ago. The 2018 International Manufacturing Technology Show kicked off this week in Chicago by breaking new records for booths and exhibiting companies, as well as the most exhibit space ever reported in the show’s 91-year history.
