Hyatt Regency Seattle Opens as Largest Hotel in Pacific Northwest
Event planners looking for a Pacific Northwest hotel able to accommodate all their meeting guests might want to take a look at the Hyatt Regency Seattle. The new 45-story downtown property, which is now the largest hotel in the region, opened its doors late last year, on Dec. 10.
Located just two blocks from the Washington State Convention Center and adjacent to The Summit, the planned convention center expansion building slated to open Spring 2022, Hyatt Regency Seattle offers more than 103,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space.
“Progress is all around us,” said Hyatt Regency Seattle general manager, Tom Wolf. “No other addition to Seattle’s vastly updated cityscape is more important for Seattle tourism than the new, very visible contemporary building right in the middle of town: Hyatt Regency Seattle.”
He added, “With the opening of the largest hotel in the Pacific Northwest this year, Seattle will finally have the meeting space options it needs.”
The hotel’s meeting spaces include two ballrooms of more than 19,000 sq. ft. each; two junior ballrooms; eight pre-function spaces; an executive boardroom with a spacious private balcony and 46 meeting rooms that range from 600-1,900 sq. ft.
In keeping with the Pacific Northwest theme that runs throughout the property, meeting areas are named after bodies of water located throughout Washington state.
Each meeting room comes with built-in audio-visual equipment, blackout blinds and T1 high-speed Internet with dedicated bandwidth capabilities. There are also multiple outlets and jacks to accommodate modern power and A/V requirements.
Hyatt Regency Seattle can offer planners more than 1,000 sleeping rooms for meeting attendees. Its 1,260 guest rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, oversized bathrooms, 65” TVs and a collection of black-and-white photography shot by six local photographers.
For dining, guests can choose from three onsite food and beverage outlets: Andare, a casual Italian-style trattoria, upscale steakhouse, Daniel’s Broiler, and The Market, featuring grab-and-go offerings available 24 hours a day.
The hotel also includes a fitness center and a club lounge with fire pits and wrap-around patio that provides guests with stellar views of downtown Seattle.
Hyatt is striving to achieve LEED Gold Certification – the second highest green building rating in the world – in 2019. The property has incorporated sustainable elements into its guest amenities and overall design, including a light-colored roof to reduce overheating, a heat and energy efficient laundry system and large-format guest bath amenities that Hyatt officials estimate will save more than one million plastic bottles from the waste stream.
Hyatt Regency Seattle is located 15 miles from SeaTac International Airport, near noted attractions including the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Pike Place Market, and is the third Hyatt Regency hotel to open in the Seattle area.
