AFRIWOOD KENYA is the only exhibition in the region that caters to the woodworking sector. The international trade fair that offers participants a chance to meet leading decision makers and professionals in wood and woodworking industry. AFRIWOOD provides an excellent opportunity for local and international companies to showcase products, machinery, and equipment and build new strategic relationships with buyers, traders and investors in the East African Region. The trade exhibition is a key platform for promoting the latest products, technology and equipment for the woodworking industry. The expo participants gain special access to the East African market allowing them to experience the domestic needs and tailor their products to the region.

Woodworking industry in Kenya is a diverse and dynamic sector that involves the production, processing, and trade of wood and wood products, such as furniture, joinery, carpentry, construction, pulp and paper, charcoal, and biomass energy. Kenya has a high demand for wood and wood products, both domestically and regionally. Kenya exported $83.8k worth of woodworking machines, making it the 93rd largest exporter of woodworking machines in the world. The fastest growing export markets for woodworking machines of Kenya are Tanzania, Rwanda, and Ethiopia. On the other hand, Kenya imported $7.62M worth of woodworking machines, becoming the 78th largest importer of woodworking machines in the world. Kenya also has access to regional markets in the East African Community (EAC) and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), which have a combined population of over 600 million people. Kenya also has potential to export wood and wood products to other markets, such as Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
