Wordly Elevates Inclusivity via Event Tech at IMEX America; Launches Cvent Integration and Other Features

October 28, 2022

Leading AI-powered translation service Wordly, which launched in 2019, took inclusivity to a new level for IMEX America 2022 in Las Vegas, enabling thousands of attendees to engage in education in the language of their choice, in addition to announcing Cvent integration, six more language options, on-demand transcript translation and expanded developer APIs.

Wordly, which recently topped 200 million minutes of live translation on its platform, making it the first SaaS solution designed for meetings and events to reach this milestone, was the official translation provider for IMEX America, offering attendees real-time translation into 25 languages on their mobile device via live audio or captions.

Wordly’s presence at IMEX, which also included an exhibitor booth, was designed to advance its mission to make meetings and events more accessible for everyone.

"We believe the key to bridging the multilingual meeting language gap is making it easy and affordable for organizations of all sizes to offer live translation and support their DEI initiatives," said Dave Deasy, CMO
of Wordly, pointing to a benchmark study conducted by Dimensional Research.

According to the results, 72% of meeting and event planners expect to see an increase in the frequency of multilingual meetings and events—and 76% report they are increasing their use of translation in order to boost attendee inclusion and engagement as well as event attendance and attendee satisfaction.

"The research shows there is strong demand for flexible ways to offer live translation, and Wordly is filling the gap with our easy-to-use, on-demand solution," Deasy said

Further accelerating its mission, Wordly is now integrated with the Cvent event management platform, enabling Cvent customers to access live translation and captions in 25 languages directly within the Attendee Hub. In-person event attendees can access the translation by scanning a QR code on their phone, and virtual attendees can join via their Cvent session.

In addition to Cvent, Wordly works seamlessly alongside dozens of event management, video conferencing and webinar platforms, including 6Connex, MeetingPlay, Notified, Teams, vFairs, Webinar.net and Zoom.

Meanwhile, Wordly’s six new language interpretation options allow event professionals to expand their audience reach and provide a more inclusive experience. The company offers five new input languages, including Czech, Indonesian, Thai, Vietnamese and Romanian, and one new output language, Turkish.

Wordly provides multi-directional translation, as opposed to bi-directional, English-centric translation. Users can translate from many languages into many languages with more than 400 language pair options offered through the platform.

Wordly also launched on-demand transcript translation and expanded developer APIs.

With the click of a button, users can now create a translated transcript from any Wordly session for 25 languages, including Chinese, English, French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish. Transcript translation only takes a few minutes per document, can be downloaded into three formats, and is a great resource for supporting training programs, meeting compliance requirements and general record keeping.

The new developer APIs are designed to make it easier to integrate Wordly with event management, video conference and webinar platforms. The APIs enable meeting planners to create and upload Wordiy translation sessions, start and stop sessions, and add glossaries from their event management platform—saving time and eliminating manual data entry. Other developer capabilities include supporting audio streaming directly to Wordly and displaying a customized caption window to attendees within their platform.
