VISIT Milwaukee Wins ESTO Destiny Award for Best Destination Website

August 28, 2018

VISIT Milwaukee, the destination marketing organization for Wisconsin’s largest city, recently won an ESTO Destiny Award for its redesigned website at the ESTO 2018 Conference.

Held Aug. 11-14 at the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Phoenix, Ariz., the annual Educational Seminar for Tourism Organizations conference is produced by the U.S. Travel Association and is attended by top tourism destinations from across the country.

“It is an honor to be recognized by our peers in the tourism industry for our new website, which launched in March of this year,” said Megan Suardini, VISIT Milwaukee vice president of marketing and communications. “ESTO is one of the premier tourism conferences in the country and I am so proud of the entire team who worked on this project.”

The Destiny Awards recognize excellence and creative accomplishment in destination marketing and promotion at the local and regional level.

According to ESTO officials, the VISIT Milwaukee website was chosen as “Best Destination Website” for its finesse in capturing the spirit of its destination, using visually pleasing and unique digital features, and for demonstrating technological innovation.

The site was redesigned and relaunched earlier this year in partnership with Hanson Dodge, a Milwaukee-based agency.

“The website uses stunning photography, engaging videos and interactive tools to highlight the wonderfully random ways that make Milwaukee a must-experience destination, and it is thrilling to be chosen as this year’s Destiny Award recipient,” Suardini added.

The Best Destination Website award was accepted by Amanda Buhrman and Lindsey McKee, VISIT Milwaukee’s digital marketing manager and communications manager, respectively.
