All Baby & Child, owner of the ABC Kids Expo held earlier this year in Louisville, Ky., decided to team up with two other baby and maternity product-related trade shows – the China-based Children’s Baby Maternity Expo and the U.K.-based the Harrogate Nursery Fair/Baby Products Association. PMMI, the owner and producer of the launch event EXPO PACK Guadalajara 2013, has secured AMEE, the Mexican Packaging Association,to provide education with a two-day, six-session conference program designed especially to meet the needs of businesses in Western Mexico. “AMEE created the program to address changing trends and to strengthen Mexican firms with training and technological updates,” said Hiram Cruz Cortes, the newly-appointed director general of AMEE. The 2013 International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE), which is on tap Jan. 29-31 at Atlanta’s Georgia World Congress Center, has set a record, with more than 1,150 exhibitors, covering 430,000-plus net square feet of exhibit space. This year’s International Association of Exhibitions and Events’ Expo! Expo! drew more than an estimated 2,000 attendees Dec. 4-6 to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, where they had the opportunity to not only go to 80 educational sessions, but also network with colleagues at events such as the opening party at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and check out products and services on a busy showfloor. For the ninth quarter in a row, the trade show industry still is growing, according to the Center for Exhibition Industry Research’s latest CEIR Index, albeit at a slower rate in the third quarter of this year, with concerns over not only the looming fiscal cliff, but also the global economy.
