Trade shows dedicated to the poultry, beef and firearms industries have been enjoying extra boosts in attendance recently.  The Cattle Industry Convention and National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) Trade Show shattered its previous attendance record of 8,200 attendees by attracting 9,331 participants to its most recent event, held Feb.1-3 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, TN. UBM Asia, a UBM plc company, organised its China International Gold, Jewellery & Gem Fair – Shanghai (Shanghai Fair) from 18th to 21st November 2016, at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. The exhibition attracted almost 4,900 visitors. Covering an exhibition space of over 11,000 m2, the four-day show featured some 260 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions, including Australia, Canada, Mainland China, Germany, India, Korea, Thailand, U.S., Hong Kong and Taiwan. IMPACT Exhibition Management reports that it has invested US$159.4 million over a three-year period to develop facilities, with the aim of diversifying its offerings and attaining a more balanced revenue stream. The ibis Bangkok IMPACT hotel and The Portal, a four-storey retail building, will open in March. IMPACT Speed Park, a go-kart circuit, was launched late last year. The water park is scheduled to be completed by October 2018, featuring a seven-hectare plot. Construction of Pullman hotel will begin next year, replacing the Eastin Lakeside Hotel and will start operations in 2019. Paul… more

Emerald Expositions’ Outdoor Retailer has opened the door to possibly moving its show out of its long-time home at the Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City. Earlier this week, Empire State Development President, CEO and Commissioner Howard Zemsky announced the selection of the design-build team for the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center’s $1.5 billion expansion project.
