Exhibitors Up 37 Percent at HKTDC Wine & Spirits Fair
The Hong Kong Trade Development Council opened its fourth Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair earlier this month at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. According to the HKTDC, a record 934 exhibitors from 37 different countries and regions attended the show to make it Asia’s biggest wine show by number of exhibitors. The HKTDC reported exhibitor numbers up 37 percent from the previous edition, which saw first time exhibitor participation from Georgia, Israel, Latvia, Malta, the Slovak Republic and Sweden. The three-day trade show Nov. 3-5.
The wine fair this year featured Italy as its partner country, where a group pavilion with over 200 Italian exhibitors was present. Overall, major product categories exhibited at the show this year included liquor & beverage products, wine services (storage, education and packaging), wine accessories & equipment, wine investment and “Friends of Wine” (bakery products, confectionery, seafood and pasta).
Additionally, the fair also hosted around 50 special events, which included the Wine Industry Conference, the Asia Top Sommelier Summit, and an International Wine & Spirit Competition.
