Germany-based Deutsche Messe has launched, and plans to launch, shows all over the world, with a concentration of shows in not only the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) countries, but also Turkey and within the EU itself. The 35th Asia Pacific Dental Congress (APDC 2013) will be arriving to the Malaysian shores again for the fourth time in two decades. Mexico is fast becoming a hot spot for trade show companies looking to expand their portfolios into the Latin America market, with Reed Exhibitions acquiring Expo Nacional Ferretera, the largest event in the region serving the hardware, construction and electrical markets. Some 30 Navy Chiefs, Coast Guard Directors-General and heads of maritime agencies in the Asia-Pacific region and worldwide will be taking part in IMDEX Asia 2013 May 14-16 at the Changi Exhibition Centre (CEC) in Singapore. Messe Frankfurt-organised Intertextile Beijing Apparel Fabrics concluded this year to a show-record 1,300 exhibitors from 16 countries and regions – up 2.5% over the previous year. The three-day event, running from 27th to 29th March 2013, attracted 25,000 visitors to the China International Exhibition Centre (CIEC) in Beijing. According to an article in The South China Morning Post, the Hong Kong Government’s Planning Department has earmarked a location adjacent to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre(HKCEC) to build a new six-story convention complex. According to the planning proposal, construction of the building will sit atop a new subway station scheduled for completion by 2020 – when construction of the convention centre can begin. NASDAQ-listed Global Sources announced an agreement has been made to acquire a proportion of the Shenzhen International Machinery Manufacturing Industry Exhibition (SIMM) and its related trade shows.
