A record-breaking 2,900 exhibitors took part in four fairs that opened in early January at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre: the Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s Hong Kong Toys and Games Fair, HKTDC Hong Kong Baby Products Fair, Hong Kong International Stationery Fair and HKTDC Hong Kong International Licensing Show. Hong Kong-based exhibition organiser, Adsale Exhibition, recently concluded a trio of trade shows in Vietnam gathering more than 16,800 visitors over four days at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC). Hong Kong-based trade show organiser, Mega Expo, is set to launch a new show focusing in lighting and electronics products – the Asian Lighting & Consumer Electronics Exhibition. The inaugural edition will take place at the Poly World Trade Center Expo in Guangzhou from 14th to 17th April 2014. Earlier this week, UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, reported its biannual survey of the 12th Global Barometer of the Exhibition Industry. According to the survey, the majority of companies interviewed declared an increase of their turnover since at least 2011. Moreover, over half of the companies declared an increase of more than 10% for 2013 – led by 80% of interviewed companies in the Asia/Pacific region reporting the increase. The 37th SHOT (Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor, Trade) Show, owned and sponsored by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, saw a 6-percent jump in attendance this year, coming in at 67,000 attendees. It was inevitable that the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses™ (WOCN®) Society would implement a mobile app for its annual conference. The rationale around using mobile apps was becoming clearer and mobile platforms were developing into efficient ways to deliver on conference objectives. Not only was there an education track specifically for technology, but also it was given its own stage in what was known as TechCentral. TechCentral was a hub of activity throughout the conference.
