World Dairy Expo Adding More Space to Meet Demand

January 5, 2012

The Madison, Wis.-based World Dairy Expo, annually held at the Alliant Energy Center, has so much pent-up demand for indoor exhibition space, a new, temporary Trade Center will be erected that will house an additional 130 booths.

The show has been at capacity for several years, according to World Dairy Expo show management.

“World Dairy Expo management is optimistic that the Alliant Energy Center will expand over time,” said John Rozum, the show’s sales manager.

He added, “The demand for indoor space has become so high that it was decided to take action and add a new temporary space for 2012.”

The new space will be the largest new exhibit area at World Dairy Expo since the main exhibition Hall was opened in 1995.

The Trade Center will be located in front of the exhibition hall, along Fairgrounds Drive and parallel to the Arena Building.

Some of the Outdoor Trade Mall space will be utilized for this new area in order to expand exhibit area, but there will be no impact on parking space, according to show management.

World Dairy Expo ranked No. 30 on the 2010 TSNN Top 250 Trade Show list, with 65,136 attendees and 773 exhibitors on a more than 500,000 net square foot showfloor.

The show also was honored at the 2011 TSNN Event Excellence Awards as one of the 20 fastest-growing shows by net square footage in the United States 2008-2010.

In 2011, the trade show set new participation levels with 810 exhibiting companies on-site displaying everything needed for dairy cattle management. First-time exhibiting companies numbered 130, and commercial exhibitors represented 28 countries last year.

Total attendance was 68,006 visitors, an increase of nearly 3,000 from the 2010 event, with 2,699 registered international guests from 90 countries.

Visitors from Canada, Mexico, Ireland, China and Germany were at the top of the list of international guests during the five-day event.

This year’s World Dairy Expo will run Oct. 2-6 and the theme for the show is “Market Fresh”.
