New Business Deals: Hyve Group, Skyline Exhibits and More Consolidate Business, Launch New Platforms

July 24, 2023

As the summer season heats up, trade show-related companies and suppliers in the U.S. and abroad have been busily inking new contracts, fine-tuning and expanding their offerings and scooping up new clients. Take a look!

Hyve Group

Hyve Group’s recently launched Fintech Meetup, the second largest U.S. fintech event focused on fintech, banking, lending and payments, has made an agreement with Fintech Nexus, an independent digital media company dedicated to the financial services industry. Announced in late June, the deal will see Fintech Nexus shift its focus to its content publishing business, discontinue its marquee spring event and transfer its sponsors, exhibitors and attendees to Fintech Meetup.

According to Fintech Meetup officials, the event has improved the traditional fintech event experience for sponsors, exhibitors and attendees by bringing groundbreaking new features and innovations to market that use a transformative end-to-end technology platform.

These features include the fintech industry's largest-ever meetings program (Meetup Program); its first-ever, large-scale hosted buyer programs (Hosted Banks, Credit Unions, Retailers & Merchants Programs); its largest-ever peer networking program that activates connections and content in an entirely fresh format (Tabletalks); and the first program for everyone to co-locate events and activities in Las Vegas alongside Fintech Meetup (Hub & Spoke Program), which is the first tech-enabled industry initiative that welcomes a partnership approach to developing fintech events.

“At Hyve, our purpose is to create transformative impact through our best-in-the-business events, and we know that Fintech Meetup delivers this at scale,” said Mark Shashoua, Hyve Group CEO. “We are delighted to welcome even more key players in the industry to Fintech Meetup, solidifying the extraordinary value that the event offers the fintech community.”

The next Fintech Meetup is set for March 3-6, 2024, at The Venetian in Las Vegas and will almost double in size from its 2023 debut in-person event, with more than 5,000 attendees, 350 sponsors and exhibitors, 175 speakers and 50,000 tech-enabled meetings.

Skyline Exhibits

Eagan, Minn.-based exhibit company Skyline Exhibits has acquired its authorized dealer, Skyline British Columbia (BC). Located in Delta, BC, Skyline BC partners with marketers to create brand-elevating, custom-modular exhibit experiences and has worked with many brands, including Scientific Games Corporation, STEMCELL Technologies, Acer International, GeoComply Solutions and Teck Resources Limited.

Skyline BC President and CMO Chris Laundy and key employees will join Skyline Exhibits to continue serving clients in the BC region. Laundy joined Skyline BC more than 10 years ago and purchased Skyline BC in 2017.

Skyline Exhibits will be adding new employees in sales, account management, exhibit design and services roles, bringing its total employee count to more than 450.

“I have worked closely with Skyline Exhibits over the years as a dealer, and I'm excited to join the greater Skyline team officially,” Laundy said. “The additional support and resources allow us to provide our clients with the best exhibiting experience and will provide an exceptional opportunity for our team to grow professionally.”

Over the past three years, Skyline Exhibits has grown as the trade show and events industry rebounded. The company recently introduced its CMX (Custom Modular Experience) solution. Since 2022, the company has seen significant revenue growth and anticipates continued growth in the second half of 2023, according to Floreano.

Messe Düsseldorf

Düsseldorf, Germany-based Messe Düsseldorf has expanded its trade show portfolio with the launch of GIFA Mexico, a new biennial trade fair designed to be a hub for innovations, know-how and business opportunities in the metal-working industries.

Debuting Oct. 16-18, 2024, in Mexico City, the new show will not only provide companies from Mexico and the region with a new platform for the global metallurgy and foundry industry but also give international exhibitors and industry experts a unique opportunity to build their business relations and gain a foothold on the emerging Mexican market.

GIFA Mexico will cover a comprehensive spectrum of machinery, plant, materials and technological innovations ranging from additive manufacturing and foundry machines to castings for a variety of application industries – from the automotive, construction, energy and gas industries to users from metal and steel plants.

These are decisive reasons for Messe Düsseldorf to enter the Mexican market – initially as an investment business with GIFA Mexico held as part of the long-established Mexican trade fair FUNDIEXPO, according to Messe Düsseldorf officials.

“Mexico is a booming international location offering vast growth potential, especially for the foundry industry,” said Malte Seifert, director, portfolio metals, energy and autonomous technologies at Messe Düsseldorf. “This is why we are consistently expanding Messe Düsseldorf’s ‘Metallurgy & Foundry Technology’ portfolio to include GIFA Mexico. Following METEC India (2004), GIFA and METEC Southeast Asia (2022), GIFA and METEC Middle East Asia (2023), GIFA and METEC Indonesia (2023), GIFA Mexico is the next milestone.”
