Cosmoprof Asia, a global beauty event held in November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, posted impressive numbers, with a 10-percent increase in attendance, compared with last year’s event. The show is organized by Cosmoprof Asia Ltd, a joint venture company between UBM Asia Ltd and BolognaFiere Group. The 10th edition of Tarsus Group’s biennial Label Expo Asia broke attendance records when it was held Dec. 3-6 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. There were 21,416 attendees, an 18.8-percent increase, compared with 18,019 who came to the 2011 show. Attendees were from 87 countries, up 11 percent from 74 countries in 2011. Anticipating increased interest in UBM Asia’s Children Baby Maternity Industry Expo (CBME) after the Chinese government  announcing it will relax the one-child policy by allowing couples to have a second baby if either is the only child in family, the show recently went to the United Kingdom to expand its customer base. The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority unveiled its second launch under a new show-ownership model in which it has an equity stake in events, with the Culinary Intelligence Summit debuting in June at the John B. Hynes Convention Center in Boston. Yarn Expo Autumn concluded with new records this year for both exhibitors and visitors. Nearly 150 suppliers from 13 countries and regions exhibited their products at the event, which was up by 50%.
