“Charm City” lived up to its name, and then some, when more than 2,500 attendees flocked to Baltimore, Md., last week for the International Association of Exhibitions’ Expo! Expo! Annual  Meeting & Exhibition 2015. Smart City Networks, a provider of event telecommunications and technology services for the conventions industry, recently implemented Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, improving Internet access for venue visitors from around the world. A lot of technology companies are focusing on an app for this and an app for that, but a company based in Isreal, MUV Interactive, has come up with a small, inexpensive gadget that packs a big experience punch. BIRD is a wearable device that fits on your index finger and senses everything your fingers are doing in space. It allows you to do everything you might do on a tablet device such as touch and gestures, but BIRD is remarkable in that it allows you to do all those things while 100 feet away from that device. The Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, and they have quite a bit to celebrate. The number of events hosted in the Middle East by ADNEC grew from just 14 in 2005 to 327 at the end of 2014. The number of visitors grew from 50,000 in 2005 to 1.6 million in 2014. That adds up to more than 10.7 million visitors over 10 years. ADNEC’s impact on Abu Dhabi's economy is significant.
