The inaugural edition of SILMO Bangkok, an optical and eyewear exhibition targeting the ASEAN region, will be held at IMPACT Exhibition & Convention Center running from 20th to 22nd June 2018. SILMO Bangkok will be organised by IMPACT Exhibition Management Company and it is expected that approximately 250 brands to be showcased at the show. UBM India opened its Hyderabad Jewellery, Pearl and Gem Fair 2018 on 8th June at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre. The three-day show concluded on 10th June. The 15th edition of THAIFEX-World of Food Asia concluded earlier this month, attracting a record of over 62,000 trade visitors, an increase of nearly 13% compared with the previous edition in 2017. Running Nay 29 to June 2, at IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, the five-day show occupied an exhibition area of 107,000 m2, featuring 2,537 exhibitors, a 17% increase year-on-year. Later this year, Sri Lanka will launch a new B2B exhibition addressing the garment and textile machinery segment. The event, InMac, aims to cover the South Asian textile and apparel manufacturing industry by bringing exhibitors from around the region. Organised by Worldex India Exhibition & Promotion Pvt. UBM Sinoexpo, a subsidiary of UBM plc, acquired 70 percent economic interest in the Shanghai International Franchise Exhibition ("SFE") organised by Shanghai Exhibition-Conference Ltd (SEC). Hosted by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), Asian Attractions Expo 2018 took place June 5-8, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Hong Kong. Preliminary estimates indicate the Expo attracted more than 9,000 participants, including 6,500 qualified buyers and 393 exhibiting companies. The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) signed a cooperation agreement with Veronafiere S.p.A. to bring wineries from Italy to Hong Kong to exhibit at the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair. The Minneapolis Convention Center (MCC) has rolled out a new initiative to help event planners understand and minimize the environmental impact of their events: client sustainability reports.
