1105 Media Will Relaunch Law Enforcement Show TREXPO for 2013

June 6, 2012

In a partnership between two for-profit trade show companies, 1105 Media has teamed up with Bobit Business Media to relaunch law enforcement show TREXPO May 13-15 at the Walter E. Washington (D.C.) Convention Center.

The TREXPO show will run alongside 1105’s GovSec Government Security Conference & Expo and the Contingency Planning & Management Conference & Expo.

This year’s GovSec event attracted 3,200 attendees, an increase of 29 percent, compared with 2011.

“We are delighted to be able to work with Bobit to revive this terrific event,” said Neal Vitale, president and CEO of 1105 Media.

He added, “It reinforces our presence in the law enforcement marketplace and deepens that dimension of GovSec.”

TREXPO was launched in 1990 and last held in 2011 as Bobit Business Media looked for strategic options for the event, according to 1105 officials.

“We feel this is a great opportunity for TREXPO and its participants,” said Ty Bobit, president and CEO of Bobit Business Media.

He added, “For years, we wanted to find a venue for TREXPO in the heart of Washington, D.C., but it wasn’t practical to do it on its own. Collocating TREXPO at the convention center with 1105 Media’s other fine events means that TREXPO has found a great new home at a perfect location enabling it to have more exposure to the law enforcement community.”

TREXPO fits neatly into 1105’s existing government security portfolio, since it focuses on U.S. tactical equipment, technology and services for law enforcement, military, security and federal agencies targeted to the needs of professionals with responsibility for tactical operations, including SWAT, high-risk extreme threat operations, military special operations and high-risk security.

"Traditionally, law enforcement, military officials and security professionals have attended TREXPO to meet knowledgeable instructors and vendors and experience the newest equipment available,” said Kevin O’Grady, president and group publisher for the 1105 Media Security, Safety, and Environmental Protection Group.

He added, “Collocation with GovSec will increase the opportunities for attendees to obtain valuable information and allow exhibitors to reach an expanded audience.”

1105 also publishes Security Products magazine and Bobit publishes Police magazine.
