Eventbase Unveils Aruba Beacons for Wayfinding, Self-Guided Tours in HPE Discover 2016 App
Eventbase Technology, an app platform for events, deployed 1,200 Aruba proximity beacons to deliver indoor wayfinding and self-guided tours within the HPE Discover 2016 app in Las Vegas this past week.
Leveraging Aruba’s Meridian SDK, interactive maps feature and one of the largest deployments of beacons ever at an event, the app allowed attendees to view their location on mobile devices, while indoors and receive turn-by-turn directions throughout the Sands Expo and Convention Center.
Whether attendees were trying to find the location of their next session or a specific exhibitor, navigating the conference floor was made easier.
The app also offered 10 self-guided audio tours that curated event highlights and gave attendees the flexibility to explore the show floor in between sessions and meetings. Each tour contained relevant location-based content and step-by-step interactive wayfinding maps.
“With an event of this size, there is a lot of information to digest and the grounds itself were massive,” said Jeff Sinclair, CEO and co-founder of Eventbase.
He added, “The event app and beacons worked hand-in-hand, to help people find their way around and make it more intuitive for attendees to access the information they need.”
In addition to the wayfinding features, Eventbase’s app for Discover offered attendee networking, a LinkedIn integration, a customizable schedule based on personal preferences and areas of interest, and the ability to favorite sessions, demos and sponsors.
The annual HPE Discover event focused on how HPE and its partners can thrive in the Idea Economy by delivering innovative IT solutions that accelerate change, harness data, manage risk, enable agility and empower workforce productivity.
Increasing customer engagement is important for HPE and through the app, Eventbase has created a platform that facilitates an engaging and personalized experiences for attendees.
