i2i Events Group, formerly Emap Connect, announced the acquisition of the Coil Winding, Insulation and Electrical Manufacturing Exhibitions (CWIEME) portfoliofrom private owners Timothy and Joanne House. This is i2i’s first acquisition since its re-branding. The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. The CWIEME portfolio consists of exhibitions in Germany, China, India and the U.S. – as well as the Inductica Conferences. The New South Wales (NSW) Government has shortlisted three separate consortia for the contract bid to build the new 120,000 square metre Sydney International Convention, Exhibition and Entertainment Precinct (SICEEP) at Darling Harbour. The bidding consortia will reportedly include Australian and international players with backgrounds ranging from construction to event management.
