Thirty-year trade show industry veteran Brian Casey has been chosen by the Center for Exhibition Industry Research’s board of directors as the new president and CEO for the organization.
Casey was identified as the best candidate after an extensive search process that was initiated after long-time head of CEIR, Doug Ducate, announced he was stepping down from the role.
Casey’s new position will begin Dec. 1.

Trade Show News Network is pleased to announce the inaugural 2013 TSNN Awards $5,000 Student Scholarship awardee is Taylor Dudley, a student pursuing event management at the University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality.
The scholarship is sponsored by the Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority (Reno Tahoe USA), and Dudley will receive the funds during the celebration gala dinner at the 4th Annual TSNN Awards Nov. 1-3 in Reno, Nev.

In response to customer feedback, Advanstar Communications’ Dealernews International Powersports Dealer Expo will move next year from its long-time home in Indianapolis to Chicago’s McCormick Place for a three-year commitment.
Winning the show was a result of a new committee, the Trade Show Promotion Fund committee, which was formed following labor reforms that took place at McCormick.

Next year in Atlanta, attendees will have the opportunity to take part in two textile shows, instead of one – Messe Frankfurt North Americas’ Techtextil North America and Texprocess Americas will collocate with JEC Group's JEC Americas.
Both shows will run May 13-15 at the Georgia World Congress Center.
Collocating the shows will provide a platform for suppliers and end-product manufacturers to access the entire high-tech value chain, according to show organizers.

For the second time recently, Advanstar Communications’ Licensing Expo has signed on with another trade show to help out each other’s events.
This time, Licensing Expo and the Toy Industry Association’s International Toy Fair have a new collaboration to cross-promote attendance at their two complementary trade events in 2014.

SME’s manufacturing show, SOUTH-TEC, has expanded its showfloor to accommodate demand for more exhibit space at its Oct. 29-31 expo in Greenville, S.C.
More than 300 companies will exhibit on the SOUTH-TEC floor at the TD Center and approximately 4,000 attendees are expected, according to SME officials.
