The 31st edition of the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair, organised by UBM Asia, concluded this year as another record-breaking show, with attendance from 3,633 exhibitors from 48 countries and regions.
UBM hosted the seven-day show across two venues in Hong Kong, namely the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) Sept. 11-15, and the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) Sept. 13-17.
According to UBM, a total of 52,651 unique visitors from 154 countries and regions were recorded and contributed to more than 115,300 visits during the fair.

The 7th edition of Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology broke records this year, with a huge 62 percent visitor increase.
The three-day event welcomed 12,762 professional visitors from 50 countries and region Sept. 25-27 at its new venue, Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
The fair presented the latest technologies and solutions in intelligent building development from around the world. In total, 135 exhibitors participated in the 2013 show and utilized 10,000 square meters of exhibition space.

Through an intensive marketing campaign, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre has secured several high-profile North American events that will bring in more 12,500 attendees and RM186 million (US 58 million) of economic impact.
Angeline Lue, director of sales and marketing for the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, said the centre is seeing increasing awareness of Malaysia as a growing business events hub in the Asia Pacific region.

Self-installing car seats and organic bedding wasn’t just baby talk at ABC Kids Expo, the largest maternity and juvenile products trade show that took place Oct. 15-18 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
With 1 million square feet, 14,000 attendees and 1,100 exhibitors, this has been the second best year for the show. Many of its areas are growing, but with economy just barely coming back and Internet commerce rapidly gaining speed, the model for success is changing.

After feedback from key industry players and the Thai Beer Industry Guild, the dates for the launch of Bevtec Asia have been changed from early 2014 to May 6–8, 2015.
The Bevtec Asia committee decided not to hold the exhibition in 2014 when two ASEAN industry conferences in the same three months period are already scheduled, also with so many buyers focused on the AEC 2015 free-trade market changes and its opportunities.
The new dates also allow the trade fair to expand its exhibit space to more than 10,000 square meters at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre… more

NASDAQ-listed,B2B media group, Global Sources, reported 4,100 exhibiting booths at the opening of this year’s China Sourcing Fair: Electronics & Components. Marking its 10th edition, the trade fair occupied all 10 halls at the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE), which was co-located with the China Sourcing Fair: Security Productsand Korea Sourcing Fair: Electronics & Components.

The inaugural edition of screen printing trade show, FESPA China, is expected to attract attendance of more than 400 exhibitors and 28,000 visitors next month.
Jointly organised by FESPA and the China Screen Printing and Graphic Imaging Association (CSGIA), FESPA’s associate member in China, the three-day event will run from 18th to 20th November 2013 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center.

The Singapore-based Experia Events, organiser of the Singapore Airshow, has announced the launch of the inaugural World Airport Expo in Singapore for 2015. The three-day exhibition will be hosted at the Changi Exhibition Centre from 4th to 6th February.
World Airport Expo will showcase airport technologies and solutions including all areas of airport planning, design and construction, management and operations of fleets, passengers and cargoes, airport safety and security, as well as human capital training.

The largest trade fair in China, the 114th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), opened on 15th October at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou this year.
The Canton Fair is held twice each year, and according to media reports, this is the first year since the global financial crisis to record a drop in exhibitor numbers at both editions. Emmy Award-winning broadcaster Bob Costas and 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will headline the program at the TEAMS '13 Conference & Expo when the event runs Nov. 4-7 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Both will appear at the show’s opening general session Nov. 5. This year won’t be their first time at TEAMS, with Romney taking part in 2001 and Costas appearing for the fourth time.
In 2001, Romney was the head of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
