According to the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), there were a record number of 12,558 rotating international association events in 2017. That is 346 more than the figure recorded in 2016. The top three ranked countries in 2017 were the same as last year: the U.S. (941 meetings), Germany (682 meetings) and the U.K. (592 meetings). In Asia, Japan hosted 414 meetings in 2017 and ranked the first in the region. GES recently reported its first-quarter 2018 earnings results in which revenues dropped 15.8 percent from $318 million in 2017 to $268 million during the same period this year.
