Messe Düsseldorf’s OS+H Asia 2014 Draws Nearly 6,000 Visitors alt

As a standalone event again, the OS+H Asia - 9th Occupational Safety + Health Exhibition for Asia attracted 157 exhibitors from 18 countries and attracted 5,800 trade visitors from Singapore and the region May 7-9 at Suntec Singapore.

“We have had excellent feedback from exhibitors indicating what a great success OS+H Asia 2014 has been,” said Gernot Ringling, managing director of the organizer Messe Düsseldorf Asia.

He added, “The exhibition was able to draw quality and targeted visitors. Exhibitors have been extremely happy with the number and diversity of trade visitors and decision makers and the increase in the number of business discussions and negotiations that took place on the show floor.”

The overall positive response and the early commitment from several companies to exhibit at OS+H Asia 2016 reinforces the growing demand for new and better products in the occupational safety sector.

According to exhibitor Kelvin Tan, senior marketing manager at Capital Safety, OS+H Asia has been very beneficial for their business because of the quality of buyers.

“We are very happy to be here and this is in fact our third time participating,” he added. “We have received many enquiries from visitors, especially from the construction industry and we look forward to continue supporting OS+H Asia and returning in 2016.”

First-time exhibitor Managing Director Steven Cittarelli from Spill Station Asia in Australia agreed, adding, “OS+H Asia is a great platform to get our name out here in Asia. As our first foray into Singapore and the Asian region, our experience has been very successful so far.”

Returning exhibitors were pleased by the growth of the show. “For us as a returning exhibitor, OS+H Asia is a very good trade event and very closely modeled after A+A in Düsseldorf,” said Anthony Seah, Managing Director of Allsport Equipment.

He added, “We have been able to meet with many new customers, reconnect with old clients and see all the key industry players. This edition of OS+H Asia has been really good.”

Visitors also gave OS+H Asia 2014 high ratings. First-time visitor Sudarat Suppermpoon, head of the Office of Quality and Environment at the Thailand Tobacco Monopoly, said, “Through this exhibition we have come to be aware of the many innovations and developments in the industry, especially in the areas of safety products and PPE.”

Visitors also were able to go to several events held concurrently with OS+H Asia 2014. The Singapore WSH (Workplace Safety and Health) Conference, organized by the WSH Council, the Ministry of Manpower and the WSH Institute, attracted more than 800 regional delegates.

The Forum on Workplace Safety and Health was attended by more than 300 senior representatives from major companies across numerous industry sectors.

“We are pleased about the number of delegates which attended this year’s forum. Together with our partners, we are fully committed to build this forum as influential and must-attend event for the discussion of key topical issues for the industry,” said Andrew H S Tan, honorary assistant secretary of the Singapore Institution of Safety Officers.
