Exhibitors Up 10 Percent at FILMART Hong Kong

The 16th edition of the Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART), organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), saw a record 640 exhibitors from over 30 countries and regions attend the four-day event at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).

 

FILMART covers film, television, digital entertainment and music, and is one of 10 events in total that makes up the month-long Entertainment Expo Hong Kong. Country pavilions that took part at FILMART this year included France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the U.S. and Vietnam. In particular, over 40 exhibitors from the U.S. attended the event, with pavilions from Hungary, Mexico and Turkey participating for the first time.

 

FILMART reportedly received about 5,200 buyers in 2012. Over 330 screenings took place this year – an increase of 10 percent over 2011.

Through the MGM Resorts Supplier Diversity Mentorship Program, the company identifies, mentors and develops diverse-owned businesses to fill its future pipeline, while providing businesses with tools and resources to empower and uplift.
