Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (L.A. Tourism) Launches meetLA.com
November 22, 2015
The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (L.A. Tourism) launched meetLA.com, a brand new website designed as a comprehensive, one-stop gateway for meeting professionals looking to conduct business in Los Angeles, according to bureau officials.
Created specifically to fit the needs of meeting and event professionals, the site makes buying decisions simpler and stress-free. meetLA.com offers tools to navigate the city of Los Angeles with ease such as:
· Find a Venue – Users can discover L.A.’s robust portfolio of venues including hotels, unique event spaces or the Los Angeles Convention Center and filter between L.A.’s regions, attendee numbers (from 50 to thousands), meeting room totals and minimum square footage to immediately obtain targeted results.
· Compare Venues – Selected locations can then be quickly compared with detailed descriptions and up-to-date meeting room specifications.
· Interactive Mapping – An integrated Google map displays selected venue locations, estimated distances, nearby attractions and public transportation routes.
“L.A. Tourism understands the importance of the meetings industry and we’ve taken detailed measures to create a website that truly reflects a planner’s interests and desires,” said Darren K. Green, senior vice president of sales at the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board. “meetLA.com is designed to ensure we connect with, and provide an engaging platform for, all generations of the meeting community.”
Readily accessible from all mobile devices, meetLA.com boasts enriched creative and up-to-date content such as information on new and refreshed hotels, group dining, green meetings and airport options. Planners can easily contact L.A. Tourism sales staff directly with a click of a phone number or email.
The launch of the new site follows the unveil of L.A. Tourism’s meetings campaign, meetL.A., which serves as an introduction to planners who might be unfamiliar with the destination while offering those who haven’t visited recently an opportunity to rediscover Los Angeles.
Citywide convention business is booming for Los Angeles, with 33 conventions booked for 2016, the most for the city since 2001. Economic impact of these conventions is estimated to be $429 million. 2017 also looks to be a major year as bookings are approaching 350,000 projected hotel room nights generated, due to larger citywide conventions than in 2016.
The new website can be accessed by visiting http://www.meetLA.com.
