Sharon Enright Appointed President & COO of NXT Events Media Group

May 25, 2017

Sharon Enright has joined NXT Events Media Group as its president and COO.

After serving in top operations management positions at Conference Management Corporation and Reed Exhibitions, Enright moved to Business Journals Inc. in 1997 as its director of operations, where she rose to the ranks of EVP of the company’s Trade Show Division.

As the second person in BJI’s 90-year history to earn this prestigious title, Enright helped build the company’s event portfolio from three to 27 annual shows, managing virtually all facets of the portfolio for more than 18 years.

Her special areas of expertise included operations, marketing and audience development.

“I am thrilled to be reunited with Sharon Enright – she has a truly special blend of talents, as she is just as facile with detailed budgets and nuance as she is with design and creative concepts,” said Britton Jones, chairman and CEO of NXT Events Media Group.

He continued, “Sharon works tirelessly to improve customer experiences. For example, she pioneered and was the brainchild of many of the enhanced packages and services that kept the BJI shows on the leading edge of the trade show industry. I cannot think of a better or more qualified person to lead an organization that is dedicated to producing experiences beyond expectations.”

Enright expressed great enthusiasm for her new role, which will entail building out the NXT’s event portfolio through acquisition, partnerships or launches into market segments where the company can make a difference.

“I am very excited to join NXT Events Media Group and be appointed its president and COO,” Enright said.

She added, “Britton’s status as an industry icon is well-deserved and he continues to be an amazing mentor to me, as well as many others in the industry. This is a wonderful opportunity and an honor.”

Enright said she will bring the same philosophy and culture she helped cultivate at BJI to her leadership role at NXT – striving for excellence in customer service and creating marketplaces that help customers achieve their goals.

“This is the same culture that will be at the core of NXT Events Media Group and the journey will be just as rewarding,” Enright said.

She continued, “This is also a transformative time in the tradeshow industry and at NXT Events Media Group, we look to embrace and utilize the evolution of this dynamic industry. With the strong leadership of Britton Jones, our continued belief in the customer-first approach and a culture that welcomes creativity and rapid change, I look forward to building out the NXT Events Media Group portfolio.”
