Reed Partners with COEX to Boast Franchise Seoul

November 11, 2015

Reed Exhibitions has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with COEX to co-organise the Franchise Seoul through the project-based joint venture (JV), which is expected to be concluded by end of this year. It is a bold leap forward for Reed Exhibitions in South Korea, following its successful JV partnership with K. Fairs Ltd., a local event organiser, to host Kormarine, the second largest maritime industry event in Asia.

Franchise Seoul 2016, will be held from 3rd to 5th March 2016, at COEX Center. Franchise Seoul recorded a steady annual growth of 8% since 2012. The show drew 10,739 trade visitors in the 2015 edition.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Reed’s chairman, Mike Rusbridge, said, “The LOI between Reed and COEX formalizes a partnership that has truly exciting potential. It is another step along the road to expand Reed’s business within Korea. Our goal is to work closely with COEX to first optimize the results of this initial project and thereafter determine the best resources from both parties to build more world-class leading events in the region.”
